The quality of Valent’s paint contributes to the longevity of the equipment. That’s why Valent provides a painted cabinet on all its units. Our painted cabinets are superior due to the coating process we use as evidenced by our excellent salt-spray performance with excellent resistance to chalking, and high color and gloss retention in harsh rooftop environments.
Cabinets constructed of unpainted galvanized steel are not as durable. Over time, unpainted galvanized units will experience severe fading, oxidation on the surface, and overall poor aesthetics—one panel can look completely different than the next, even on the same unit. Painted cabinets do not suffer this same fate.
Valent’s paint offers an exceptional salt spray resistance at 2,500 hours when using standard testing methods for salt spray ratings per ASTM B117 guidelines. This is measured using ASTM D714, Standard Test Method for Evaluating Degree of Blistering of Paints. ASTM D714 defines the severity of the size and density of the blisters that are formed on painted galvanized metal samples when exposed to the corrosive environment.
Not all 2,500-hour ratings are the same, as some test samples may have a higher degree of blistering. Just “passing” the test is not good enough for us. Instead, Valent cabinets look as good at test completion as they did before testing started.

Valent’s high quality paint has a polyester resin base formulated to stand up to abrasion, impact, UV light, high temperatures, and chemicals. Our paint ensures the longevity of the equipment, and keeps it looking nicer for longer.
